A mischievous duo starts to doodle and ends up creating a whole imaginative world! You’ll never guess what happens along the way in this charming, playful non-verbal show. What will happen as we follow their vivid drawings, and will they return safely? Live musicians perform the accompanying score and sound effects as stunning interactive animation projections and live whiteboard drawings come to life in this unique performance!

 
 
 

Call of the Wild:
Illustrated Edition

Embark on a journey from Sonoma County local legend, Jack London. London’s Call of the Wild comes to life on stage with captivating screen projections surrounding one powerful performer. This multimedia adventure based on Jack London’s classic tells a magnificent sled dog’s thrilling tale of courage and survival during the  Klondike Gold Rush in the 1800s. History and literature come to life in this unique and dazzling performance.

Ailey II

Join us as one of the most famous dance companies in the country returns to our stage in this presentation especially for students. Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of talented young dancers with the passion and creative vision of today’s outstanding emerging choreographers. Part discussion, part performance, the Ailey spirit shines as this critically-acclaimed company discusses and presents a diverse repertory of timeless classics and thrilling new works, each piece telling a powerful story.

 
 

Mastery Through Movement: Bringing English to Life for Early Language Learners

Instructor: Bridget Palmer
Grades: PK-2
Subjects: Dance, Drama, ELA

Give your students a leg up in their academic career by inspiring them to engage in this imaginative movement-based approach to mastering foundational language skills. Under the cover of make-believe play, students will embody skills like curves and straight lines, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, nouns, types of sentences, prepositions, figurative language, affixes, prefixes, antonyms, synonyms, categories, shades of meaning, as well as story details like setting, character, events, feelings, and the five senses.

TOOLS FOR TEACHERS
Bringing Books to Life: Preparing for Standardized Testing Through Drama

Wednesday, February 2

Participants will learn how theatre integration techniques will help prepare students for English standardized testing. Approaching stories and questions through theatre strengthens students’ skills in reading comprehension, textual analysis, and detail retention, providing tools that will support them when it comes time to test their knowledge.

MARIACHI INSTITUTE
Fundamentals
Wednesday, February 23
4:00 – 5:30 pm
Instructor: José Soto

In this session participants will understand the key components needed to build a successful mariachi program. Participants will learn the pillars of instrumentation needed for a mariachi with a particular focus on the Armonía section. Participants will have an opportunity to experience and play traditional instruments, including vihuela and guitarrón.
