This workshop takes the foundational elements of acting, such as concentration, cooperation, and collaboration, and creates a structured process, which can become the basis for effective classroom management every day. This engaging, step-by-step approach empowers students to be responsible for their own behavior. Learn how to help students build the skills necessary to establish a sense of self-control, accountability, and teambuilding in your classroom. This workshop is recommended for any classroom based in active, social, cooperative learning. CEUs available.

Experience how dance, theatre, visual art, and music can deepen students’ understanding of math. In this series of interactive workshops, educators will engage in creative strategies that connect core math concepts—like patterns, geometry, measurement, and ratios—with artistic practices. Leave with practical tools to support diverse learners through hands-on, integrated lessons that make math meaningful, memorable, and fun. CEUs available for each session.

Workshop 1: Math, Dance, and Theatre

9:15 – 10:45 am

Explore how movement and storytelling can bring mathematical concepts to life. In this dynamic workshop, participants will engage in interactive exercises that connect math standards with dance and theatre techniques. This session emphasizes embodied learning strategies to support student comprehension, creativity, and engagement—especially for kinesthetic and auditory learners.

Workshop 2: Math and Visual Art

10:55 am – 12:25 pm

Discover how visual art can be a powerful lens for exploring mathematical thinking. This hands-on workshop will guide teachers through lesson models that integrate concepts like geometry, patterns, measurement, and spatial reasoning with drawing, collage, and design. You’ll leave with classroom-ready ideas and inspiration to help students see math in new and meaningful ways.

Workshop 3: Math and Music

1:30 – 3:30 pm

Uncover the deep connections between mathematical reasoning and musical expression. In this rhythmic and engaging session, educators will explore how music can illuminate mathematical ideas such as fractions, ratios, patterns, and sequencing. With support from music specialists and integration experts, participants will experiment with classroom activities that make abstract math concepts concrete and memorable.

ARTS FOR ALL RESIDENCY

Pop-Up Crafts

Grades: 3 - 12
Subject: Visual Art

In this playful residency, your students will learn the fundamentals of pop-up mechanics and then apply what they learn to designing and creating their own pop-up cards and small art books. This course will cover the principles of what makes pop-up cards pop, and explore tenets of visual storytelling.

Around the Americas with 123 Andrés

Andrés and Christina are the Grammy- and Latin Grammy-award winning music duo 123 Andrés (say “uno, dos, tres Andrés”)! Their catchy songs and lively performances get the whole audience dancing, singing, and learning! In this fun journey Around the Americas, we ask, “¿Dónde está Juana?”  We’ll help Andrés find his friend Juana, and our only clue is that she’s somewhere in the Americas.  Travel via song and dance through a lesson in geography that incorporates an introduction to a variety of musical instruments as well as Latin language, culture, and music.
