November 2020

While teaching over Zoom is never going to be the same as teaching in a classroom, like you, we’ve been adapting our work for the new virtual format including our Artists in the Schools Residencies.  Our LBC teaching artists are connected with organizations from around the country staying up to date on the emerging best practices and standards for effective online teaching as well as tech tools like Zoom breakout rooms, FlipGrid video, and more!

Currently we have virtual arts integration residencies available for grades K-3 in music and 4-12 in drama, but keep an eye out for additionsand we still have plenty of scholarships available for schools who need them.

Learn more about the program, request a residency, or apply for a scholarship!

A Trip Down Memory Lane
Did you know that our Education & Community Engagement team serves more than K-12 students? It's true! One such program in existence for many years is a monthly sing-along for people who struggle with memory loss in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association. Each month we choose a special theme and select songs to bring joy to everyone involved. October's sing-along celebrated the spooky season with chart-topping songs covering everything from creepy crawlers to ghoulish ghosts! November's songs will focus on love and friendship.

Though we aren't able to meet at LBC to sing right now, we're still going strong virtually. The program is free to anyone who'd like to join the fun. Wherever you are in life, be sure to remember to SING!

For more information on the Sing-Along, contact Tracy Sawyer.

Instrument Lending Library Available for School Music Programs
Music for Schools, LBC's free instrument lending library, still has plenty of instruments available for this school year. We have a contact-free application and are prepared to help your school music program. Check in with Tracy Sawyer to find out more.
