Latino Heritage Month Kicks Off With
LBC’s 11th Annual
Fiesta de Independencia
Presented by Redwood Credit Union

A celebration of Latin America came to Sonoma County on Sunday, September 13—streamed electronically for the first time ever! Luther Burbank Center for the Arts and our Latino Advisory Council were thrilled to present the 11th annual Fiesta de Independencia in partnership with Redwood Credit Union. This is a free, family-friendly celebration of community, cultural diversity, and Latino heritage, which was broadcast through Facebook and YouTube. The event welcomed students from Roseland University Prep’s MEChA Club for their presentations on Latin American countries celebrating independence this month. La Fiesta featured incredible local artists Danza Azteca Xantotl, Ballet Folklórico Ireri, and LBC’s own Mariachi youth ensemble, along with music sensation Industria del Amor. An annual highlight, El Grito, was presented by the Mexican Consulate of San Francisco, commemorating the famed cry for independence.

Thank you to all the amazing participants and sponsors for making this event possible!
