You’re invited to the next SoCo AEA Mix and Mingle!
|
In May of 2022, members of the Sonoma County State of Arts Education hosted by the Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance had the option of participating in a breakout session focusing on visioning and goal setting within our community, facilitated by LBC Director of Education Ashleigh Worley and Nikko Kimzin, founder of Kimzin Creative. There was an overwhelming request for more opportunities to network, and thus, the SoCo AEA Mix and Mingle was born. This informal gathering has continued every few months at different venues from Santa Rosa to Petaluma, allowing participants to learn more about the arts education all around the county. Given our mission to connect the community through the arts, assisting with organizing these mixers is a natural
extension of our work. These events typically see anywhere from 35-70 arts educators and advocates in attendance!
Register for the next SoCo AEA Mix and Mingle on March 27!

Our CARE program is growing
|
In addition to two weekly drama classes, we’re now offering two weekly dance classes to children residing at Catholic Charities’ Caritas Center through our Creative Arts for Resilience and Expression (CARE) program. Classes run throughout the school year, providing a much-needed source of stable, after-school enrichment for children who haven’t had consistent access to housing. Our teaching artists help participants express themselves in a safe, fun environment, building their self-confidence and social-emotional skills. We are so grateful for this partnership with Catholic Charities for giving us the chance to reach children who need the arts the most.
