Fiesta de Independencia returns live at LBC on September 18

Every fall for the last 13 years, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts has been home to one of the North Bay’s favorite festivals celebrating Hispanic Heritage month. Introducing a two-part Professional Development series—Overcoming Ableism: Shifting from Accommodating to Belonging, part of LBC’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access in the Classroom program

As educators, we are responsible for being champions for our students. We aim to create environments for our students where they feel uplifted, empowered, and valued. To help further this shared mission, LBC is proud to offer our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access in the Classroom series (IDEA) to help all educators build skills necessary to support all students in an ever-evolving world. This fall, we’ve partnered with the Common Ground Society to explore ableism: what can we do to combat unconscious stereotypes, misconceptions, and generalizations about individuals with disabilities? This two-part series is open to anyone who works in an educational setting or who is simply learning more about the experiences of the differently abled and what we all can do to shape a more equitable world.

Attend one or both workshops!  Registration only $10.

Arts for All Residencies
Grades: PK-12
Subjects: Dance, Drama, Art, Music, and More!

To further meet the increasing need for more arts-based residencies, LBC is proud to introduce Arts for All, which allows PK-12th grade classroom teachers to choose from different art forms—including dance, drama, art, and music—to ensure that their students receive a diversity of quality arts instruction.

This year, we've taken our popular Dancers Unite program and expanded it into the Arts for All program, offering six or more arts classes for all grades! Our Arts for All residencies focus students on learning new skills in dance, theater, visual art, and more, all tailored specifically to your classroom’s needs. We’re excited to be bringing opportunities for artistic learning and self-expression to even more Sonoma County students!
